Lehigh University Taekwondo Team Lehigh University Taekwondo Club has always been training in the martial art of Taekwondo. However, it was evident that some members of the club wanted chance to go out to tournaments to compete. Originally, those who wanted to compete had to do it individually without much of support from the club. In 1996-1997, the president of the club, Goddany Normil, took members who were interested to the INCTL collegiate tournament for the first time. Unfortunately, upon his graduation from Lehigh University, the support for competitors also disappeared. In 2003, Lehigh University Taekwondo alumnus and Lehigh Valley Taekwondo assistant instructor, Motoo Yasui, received an invitation for Lehigh University club to once again participate in INCTL tournaments. As the head coach of the team, he started to organize and train those who showed interest to bring the team to the league to compete for the first time in years. Since then, Lehigh University Taekwondo Team has consistently participated in INCTL tournaments, competing against schools such as MIT, Yale, Harvard, Cornell, and many others. The team continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the league. |
