Taekwondo Term Search Help
The terms in the database are currently limited to those used at LVTKD/LUTKD. If you find missing terms (words that should be added because of their common use in Taekwondo), please contact us and let us know. We would like to keep our database as current as possible.

I. How to Use the Search Function
This search engine allows you to search for specific Taekwondo terms without having to look through a long list. The following features should make your search even simpler.
This returns the list of words belonging to a given category. Clicking on the submenu to the left also returns the words in that category. There are currently 11 categories; all words in the database belong to one of them.
This returns the list of words containing the keyword entered. Type in a whole or partial word, or even a list of words separated by spaces.
The caret ("^") is a special character that may come in handy. When a keyword is preceded by a caret, the search engine looks only for words that start with the entered keyword. For example, typing "TAE" into the Keyword text box would find "TAEKWONDO" "TAEGUK" and "WORLD TAEKWONDO FEDERATION." On the other hand, typing "^TAE" would find "TAEKWONDO" and "TAEGUK," but not "WORLD TAEKWONDO FEDERATION."
Searches may be conducted using several keywords. When more than one keyword is entered into the Keyword text box, the search engine needs to know how it should handle these keywords.
If OR is selected, the search engine will find the terms that contain any one of the listed keywords. If AND is selected instead, the search engine will find only the terms that contain all of the listed keywords. The default is set to OR. This function is useful only when there is a list of keywords in the Keyword text box.
These radio buttons are used when conducting a keyword search. If Search in Korean Word is selected, the search engine finds the Korean terms that contain the keyword. If Search in English Definition is selected, the search engine finds the terms that include the keyword in their English definitions. The default is set to Search in Korean Word. This function is useful only when there is a list of keywords in the Keyword text box.
If this box is checked, the search results are displayed in alphabetical order.
Click on this button when you are ready to search. Hitting the ENTER key while the cursor is inside the Keyword Text Box also invokes the search.
II. Encountering Unexpected Search Results
If your search produces unexpected results, check the search criteria listed on the top of the page. You may have added criteria that you didn't intend, or missed the criteria that you wanted. Keep in mind that the search engine looks for the terms that satisfy all the given criteria.
